it’s the way he looks at her, like he is seeing her for the first time each time their eyes meet. it’s the way she smiles when he holds her close, like she is the safest in his arms. it’s the way everyone who knows them wants to be around them because they are so magnetizingly serene and sincere.
together they are delightfully refreshing like crisp, chilled watermelon and thirst-quenching, ambrosial tangerines.
i had been looking forward to david and laura’s wedding for a long time, mostly because I just wanted to spend some time with them. they are geniunly good people who are lucky to have found each other and true love in this life. i am so happy for them, and was elated for the opportunity to be a part of their day.
everyone knows i love a good surprise. my original plan was to have this post ready for them last night as a “SURPRISE! welcome home from your honeymoon mr. and mrs….”, i feel a little bummed that i missed the deadline, but this is what i think…pictures of your wedding day will be a welcomed surprise whenever they come. am i right? or am i right?
my second shooters whitney and becca (thanks so much for being there ladies. you were kind of like my bride’s maids…kind of. in a way. metaphorically.) and i met up with laura and her girls for some pre-show photographs. her mom, sisters, and best-gals were as welcoming and as loving as laura. we felt as if we were a part of the bridal party too, laughing and enjoying the anticipation of the days delicious slices.
a few details:
her flowers,
the rings,
her shoes (genius choice!!)
and the piece de resistance, her stunning dress,
little detail of the bodice of her dress:
actually, this is the piece de resistance, the gorgeous bride. (hair and make brought to you by the letters n and d: the ultra talented nicole deanne, who i was so excited to finally meet.)
laura and david were married in a private ceremony in the lds newport beach temple. we met up with them right after to celebrate together.
their wedding party was to die for!! they were seriously so much fun, full of laughs, and jokes, and love for laura and david. they were, for lack of a better word, rad. (that’s right, i’m trying to bring rad back.)
i think they should rent themselves out to other weddings.
i loved the crisp colors.
love this image captured by whitney:
david and his best guys
david’s best man, rich, happens to be a talented videographer. if you are in the market and looking for someone super personable, who will make you laugh while creating a beautiful moving memory of your day check out his work here.
dana, the darling flower girl:
a few of just the bride:
and her groom:
whitney shot this image; i love it.
the groom’s flowers never get attention. here’s a little:
and a few of them together:
love these next two:
david and laura had a ring ceremony as well, so those who weren’t able to be to their sealing could still have a part in their wedding.
some pretty light:
one of many details from their reception:
becca shot the first one; i loved the reflection; thought that was so cool.
laura and david, thank you again so much for the opportunity to be a part of your deliciously, refreshingly delightful day. may your wedding day of vibrant color and lasting love be a foreshadowing of your life together.
much love to you both, kj
