“j, jess asked me to shoot a wedding with her in albany. that’s in new mexico, right?”

i’ll just let that settle in for a minute.

then i texted jess, “albany, new york, right?”

apparently there is only one albany. ๐Ÿ˜‰

i will never forget that albany is in new york. nor will i forget the things i saw, the energy i felt, or the people i met while visiting said city.

a few months ago one of my mentors and friends asked me to accompany her across the country as an assistant and second shooter to a wedding that, well, to use a colloquialism direct from the city, “was off the hook!”

sifting through my images trying to find the ones i wanted to share brought back everything for me. this was the wedding i couldn’t describe with words. at every turn of the head there was another detail, another moment, another second of time that took my breath away and left me reeling in the tangible, intangible, and inexpressible beauty of love and commitement. it was an experience i will never, ever forget.

from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with warmth. i know jess was a super, ultra, important part of the wedding to these individuals (jp is a phenomenal photographer; it’s such a compliment when one impressive photographer asks another to photograph his wedding; i thought that was such a tribute to the talent and gift of jessica claire!!).ย jess had been hand selected for this gig, but they took just as much interest in me which i thought was so cool too, kind of like we had always been members of their great, big, incredible family. 10 minutes after meeting the elario’s jess and i knew that if anything were to happen to us, in the city or otherwise, there would be a team of people who had our backs.

that’s just who they are, people who care and love and are passionate about everything, even strangers from the west who came with cameras.

they are especially passionate about those close to them;

those they love, deeply:
