Kamee June Photography

last week i spent a day with my good friend and colleague julie rollins. we had, essentially, four shoots packed in to one day. there was so much on the agenda, and all of it was accomplished. especially the scheduled hanging, and laughing, and enjoying one another’s company.

we presented our ideas and shannon and brian totally jumped on board; it was incredible!!

we shot maternity most of the day. but somewhere in the middle we hit the extreme opposite and did some way-glammed-out head shots for a local salon and a possible publication in a cosmetology magazine:

and then we went back to finish the day in the pretty light with our original subject, my good friend shannon, who is expecting her 3rd boy!! ;) more from our shoot and our fun soon. thank you shannon and brian for being our models, and my friends!!

last saturday i kicked it with an incredible photographer who is already making serious waves in the print world and who will soon do the same in the wedding industry. he and i were treated to an incredible shoot designed by my friend katrina and modeled by my friends vince and ashley. this is just a taste. there will be more soon.

to katrina: it can’t happen without you; no way. you know i am always so grateful!

to vince and ashley: your uncle was right vince, you both should have gone into modeling; thank you so much!

to ralph: thank you for sharing “the meter”, for “lighting it up” and for showing me how you see it too; i KNOW incredible things are in your future!!

the lady in the rad mustard is my friend. just thinking about her makes me smile.

thinking about where and how she changed into rad mustard makes me laugh, audibly.

considering her entire family makes me feel so happy; they are such good people.

i felt honored to be the one to take their family pictures this year.

my boy starts school tomorrow. like real school. recess school. homework school. teether ball and four-square school.

i am excited for him.

the teacher in me is jumping out of my skin for him. the mom in me is feeling some tugs on the heart strings. not sure why. the teacher in me says this is so cool and such an awesome time. the mom in me agrees, but feels like time is still going way too fast.

the teacher in me says, “let him stretch; he will grow.” the mom in me wants to hold him, five forever.

the teacher in me knows he is going to do so well; the mom in me does too.

i loved kickin’ it today with my friend gus. he is such a kind hearted person, just so good and so nice. it was refreshing being with someone so mellow and so interested and passionate about photography!! gus, thanks for comin’ out, and for sharing a photographic day with me! i can’t wait to see what you captured.

i was flipping over some of the images i was able to snag during our shoot.

the ever-talented and incredible katrina of kitsch did the styling for today’s shoot. it was so different and so awesome. dirty and grungy, and i. loved. it!! i felt so inspired by what she created and by the model she used to create it all!! thank you to katrina, for being who you are: style guru, fashionista divine, and true friend.

AND a thank you to my mrm, most recent muse: keiri. i could have shot you until the skies turned black, and then waited on baited breath for the light to birth to start again. it was a pleasure meeting you, and capturing your energy today! thank you for being so willing!!!
